Former Nigeria international Victor Moses is facing a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an Achilles injury playing for Spartak Moscow.
The Russian Premier League side confirmed the winger will be on the sidelines for six months due to an injury he contracted during the week-end
The 31-year-old will have surgery after picking up the injury in the club’s 2-0 win at Ural in the Russian Premier League on Saturday after just 32 minutes of play.
The 2013 AFCON winner left the stadium on crutches and it’s now confirmed that he is ruled out for six months.
“Spartak midfielder Victor Moses, who was injured in the RPL 4th round match in Yekaterinburg, underwent a medical examination,” the club announced in a statement, as per DPN.
“The Nigerian has been diagnosed with an Achilles tendon injury. The player will have to undergo surgery. It will take about six months to recover from the injury.”
He’s expected to be out for six months.
Moses has netted twice and provided two assists in four league games this season.
