Sadiq Umar is on the verge of leaving Almeria this summer but the million dollar question is which club will he be playing in the 2022/23 season.

The Former Rangers striker Umar Sadiq is set to leave Almería this summer in a bumper €30m (£25m) deal, the CEO of the Spanish club have confirmed.

The Nigerian forward has been linked to multiple clubs since the start of the transfer window with some reports suggesting he may leave Spain fo England, Germany or Italy.

Umar was not in Almeria’s squad that travelled to England to face Burton last weekend, with the club’s CEO confirming that Sadiq was left out because of his impending departure.

“Umar Sadiq has not travelled to England to avoid any type of injury that could stop a transfer that is close at this time,” Assy said, as per report.

“They are players who have prestige in the market, and you hope that they have a great future,” he added.

With that division set to kick off this coming weekend, Almeria CEO Mohamed El Assy has confirmed a sale is imminent but was tight-lipped on Sadiq’s destination.

He will be sold for a little less than €30m. We have 12-13 other players that have received offers, they are players who have a prestige in the market and you hope that they have a great future.”

Why Is He Being Hugely Sought After?

The 25-year-old forward is not only know for his goal scoring attribute but also famous for his playmaking, assisting 9 times whilst scoring 18 in the La liga segunda division in Spain.

Sadiq Umar finished as top scorer of the Spanish second division, helping his team gain an automatic qualification to the Spanish La Liga.

Due to his height, 192 metres, Umar is dominant in the air and is the favourite to win all aerial duels. This is an attribute most clubs in search of him are lacking in their centre forward.

Umar Sadiq has 41 goals and 19 assists in 81 games for the Spanish club and has continued his rich vein of scoring form that earned him links to Man United whilst in Serbia with Partizan Belgrade.

Rangers fans are well used to Umar Sadiq being linked with moves to some of Europe’s top clubs but now it appears the striker could genuinely make a megabucks move in the window.

It’s a long way away from the ineffective forward signed by Rangers on loan from AS Roma in 2018 and Umar Sadiq has had a solid career trajectory ever since leaving Ibrox, the striker putting his failed six months in Glasgow down to a frosty relationship with Steven Gerrard.

Clubs Bidding For Him

Villarreal lead the race for the Kaduna-born striker with the Yellow Submarines ready to go all out for his signature.

The last season Champions League semifinalists are hoping to add Umar to their ranks as he gives them an extra edge going forward especially aerially.

Sadiq Umar is the fourth highest goal scorer in Spanish top 2 divisions in the last two years and will be ready to bring his goals to the Yellow Submarines.
