Zambia may have crashed out of the Women’s World Cup at the group stage, but at half-time of their final group match against Costa Rica, it was like party time for them as they had a 2-0 lead.

Then each of the goals is a milestone. The first by Lushomo Mweemba in the second minute of the game is the fastest so far in the tournament.

Secondly, Mweemba  sends her name in the record books by becoming the first Zambian player to score at the senior World Cup, slotting Avell Chitundu’s corner.

The second goal is even more remarkable. Scored from a penalty kick in the 31st minute, Barbra Banda is the scorer of the 1,000th goal since the Women’s World Cup began in 1991.
